Concepcion (Connie) was born and raised on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca where she began painting at the age of 9. Her artistic themes are influenced by the old world culture and architecture styles found in the Balearic Islands. Her later travels on the mainland broadened her appreciation for the diverse painting styles of European artists.
In 1972 she came to the United States where she lived in New York City and upstate New York. Warmer weather brought her to South Florida in 1982. There she renewed her love of artistic expression with oils while studying at the Metropolitan Art Center in Coral Gables. During this period her depiction of beautiful old world architecture is reminiscent of the "Realism" style prevalent during the 19th century, the goal of Realism being the accurate and objective description of the ordinary, observable world.
Later, her long held love of the Dutch Masters resulted in an expansion of her repertoire from architecture to still life. She began studying with Polly Podolsky at the Mount Dora Center for the Arts and with Gregg Kreutz from New York City.
